About the Role
A Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting co-workers in the kitchen to ensure that meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have experience with food preparation techniques, particularly using knives and other kitchen utensils, and will work under the supervision of the general manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as per recipes.
- Assist in the cooking process by preparing sauces, marinades, and other components.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.
- Ensure all food items are stored properly and adhere to food safety standards.
- Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with co-workers to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation.
- Follow recipes and instructions to meet quality standards.
Requirements
Qualifications for the Position of Prep Cook!
Experience: At least 2 years in a pizza-making or similar culinary role. Proficient in using knives and kitchen utensils for food preparation
Attention to Detail: Capability to accurately follow recipes and uphold high-quality standards.
Fast-Paced Environment: Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen setting.
Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.
Food Safety Certified: Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques. Safe Food Handling certification required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification is preferred.
Available evenings and weekends and holidays (May -September)
